IMPACT Silver Spring
Impact Silver Spring is at the Community Hope Center every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and sometimes later depending on how many people are in line. The team provides outreach to individuals who come to the Hope Center by sharing information about resources available in the area and throughout Montgomery County. They also create community spaces that encourage engagement, public participation, and support for one another.
- Coffee Chat Hangout – A regular group of women who support one another and share experiences within the group. It has become a close friendship circle that functions as a supportive and encouraging space.
- “We Want to Hear From You” Listening Space – A space that invites Gaithersburg residents to share their thoughts, experiences, and concerns about their neighborhoods and community issues.
- Senior Men’s Group – A recently created group made up mostly of men age 60 and older. The group currently includes nine participants who gather to talk about the issues men face at this stage of life while building connection and support with one another.
- Network Nights – Events hosted every three to four months where selected topics are presented by trained professionals who teach, provide information, and guide participants through those subjects.
In addition to outreach efforts at the Hope Center, the Impact Silver Spring team also supports staff and volunteers with any needs that arise during their time there.
